Carrying forward the rich legacy, BVPMUN came back with its fourth edition BVPMUN’16- Connect, Create, Catalyse. The event was conducted in the school premises from 21st – 23rd October 2016. With over 500 delegates from across the country and the globe; delegates and executive board members from Muscat and Bangladesh, this event has emerged as one of the most soght after MUN’s in India. The theme ‘Connect, Create, Catalyse’ focused on the need to connect with people, create the much needed change and accelerate the process of positive change.
Day 1 of the 3-day event commenced with the arrival of the Chief Guest, Ms. Upendra Ahluwalia, first Mayor of the Municipal Corporation, Panchkula. The opening ceremony began with the lighting of the auspicious lamp by the Chief Guest and the esteemed members of the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Managing committee Panchkula along with the Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Shashi Banerjee, and invocation to the Almighty seeking his blessings..
The Chief Guest, Ms. Upendra Ahluwalia, Mayor, Panchkula and a very prominent social worker, in her well received address, described India’s diplomatic policies in context of current global developments as well as elaborated on future paths the country may take to further its interests.
The future leaders discussed and debated in order to connect and bridge gaps to create the required change and be the catalyst in the process.
The prestigious and much acclaimed BVPMUN 2016 came to a close with a glittering ceremony decorated with the presence of the Chief Guest Sh. Vivek Atray, Ex DC, Panchkula & a much lauded writer and motivational speaker.
Glittering trophies were received by their well-deserved clamours. Special Mention, Best Delegate, Best Position Paper & High Commendation were felicitated from each committee.
Amongst thunderous applause LA MARTINIERE, LUCKNOW school lifted the trophy for Best Delegation.
GURMEHAR SINGH SIDHU from Ryan International School, Chandigarh was chosen as the Secretariat’s Best Delegate and was awarded with the coveted trophy.
The School Principal Dr. (Smt.) Shashi Banerjee expressed her elation over the successful culmination of this 3 day International MUN and shared that these young leaders give promise of a greater hope for human society.
