After ‘A Vision for Future’ and the ‘Voyage to Knowledge’ Bhavan Vidyalaya Panchkula came forth with the third edition of BVPMUN, BVPMUN 2015 ‘Power to LEAD’. LEAD abbreviates Leaders Encourage a Difference which was the guiding motto of BVPMUN2015 inspired the young delegates zest to imbibe the emulable qualities of renowned leaders.

BVPMUN2015 went bigger and better this year with 9 riveting committees- the UNGA, Historic Security Council, European Union, Citizen’s Dialogue, United Nations Environmental Programme, Commission On The Status Of Women, INTERPOL, Economic And Social Council and the star attraction of the conference- The Joint Meet Of UEFA And IFAB, a one of a kind committee based on football.

The conference commenced with a mesmerizing opening ceremony with the Chief Guest as thnourable Education Minister of Lighting the lamp Haryana, Shri Ram Bilas Sharma Ji. After lighting the lamp and invoking the blessings of the Almighty, the event proceeded with the students putting up an excellent show with their dance and song performances that made the audience tap their foots.

After two really awe inspiring speeches by the Deputy Secretary General Tushita Sharma and the Secretary General Ankita Chawla, the worthy executive board members were formally introduced and were handed their gavels. The Secretary General then declared the meet open, thus formally setting the conference in motion.

The first day of the meet was full of action with the agendas being set in each

committee and the Executive Board members briefing the enthusiastic but nervous first timers about the rules and procedures of the Model United Nations conference and made them feel at ease. The committees had a steady start and gathered pace as the day proceeded. The International Press made the delegates have a hearty laugh with their brilliant flashboard, which was displayed in the food area.  The dress code which was Indian Ethnic wear for day one also added to the vibrancy of the day.


With the agendas set for each committees, the second day saw the delegates coming out of their shells of fear and putting their best foot forward to make sure that their point of view was considered. The zeal with which the delegates debated lent dynamism to the committees. All the debates were extremely fruitful and helped the delegates hone their skills and acquire new skills that are of great significance and pertinence in


 today’s highly competitive world. Besides the witty and light hearted humour from the flashboard, the delegates were given some respite from the intense debating and discussion with a social gathering planned for them in the evening. The way the delegates enjoyed themselves and interacted with each other proved that the conference had succeeded in

promoting healthy competition along with a sense of camaraderie which the world so direly requires.



The last day witnessed the most intense form of debating as the delegates put in their heart and soul to prove their mettle and win a prize. All the committees started discussing their draft resolutions and zeroed onto the ones they thought would provide the viable solution to the problem being discussed. The session lasted till noon and after having a sumptuous meal, the delegates from all the various committees went to the auditorium for the most awaited ceremony, the prize distribution. The closing ceremony began with a bang with the band giving an energetic performance followed by a melodious medley of songs by Asawari Srivastava of class XI.


The Chief Guest of the ceremony Justice­­­ Sh.Mahesh Grover gave an eye opening speech on the hardships one might face and how to tackle them and move forward in life. After the insightful address of the Chief Guest, the executive board members from the different committees shared their experience and were all praises about the conference. Then came the most awaited segment of the closing ceremony, the prize distribution. The worthy delegates of each committee were given their prizes. After humbly receiving their hard earned awards the delegates took their seats to wait for the meet to be formally declared closed. After recognizing the efforts of the entire Organizing Committee for their untiring work and commitment to the event. After the formal vote of thanks the Secretary General of the meet, Ankita Chawla declared the meet closed. Thus formally closing the last chapter of BVPMUN2015- Power To Lead.DSC_8955
